Now this is my favourite Sandra Bullock look from the awards season so far. And she inexplicably saved it for the 2014 Director's Guild of America Awards. Which hardly anyone takes any notice of. It's by Roland Mouret and works to enhance Sandy's gorgeous figure and striking looks. Fabulous.

Also, Dame Helen Mirren. Seriously. This woman is something like a phenomenon. She looked spectacular in her divine deep teal Jenny Packham dress of spangle-tastic splendour. Doesn't she?

And then just to balance things out, lest we get giddy with all this fashion joy, may I present to you, Kerry Washington in an Oscar de la Renta polka dot tent. Yes. For some reason she thought that she needed to pay penance for revealing her belly in that Prada crop top, and wore a tent. Bad Kerry.
