Pale and nude shades were a MASSIVE trend on the 2014 Grammy Awards red carpet last night. It was spearheaded by one of the perennially best dressed songstresses, Taylor Swift, who was absolutely stunning in a Gucci silver suit of armour.

Frankly she nailed it in my opinion. Somehow managing to make a spangly red carpet dress look uber cool (cool not being her usual milieu). It is modern and punchy and dazzling and sleek. Elegant. Love.

Then there was Katy Perry who blew every fashionista's mind by wearing a Valentino Couture gown directly off last week's Paris runway. How on earth did that happen? That never happens. Especially not fitted like a glove to Katy's ample curves.

And that it was PERFECTLY balanced — walking that tricky line between Katy's signature cartoon quirk and elegance — was a miracle. A fashion miracle.

A special mention goes out to Sara Bareilles who wore this pale and frothy concoction from Blumarine and then slammed it home with bright orange accessories. Nice.
