2014 Sundance Festival: Nick Cave 20,000 Days on EarthThis is a break from what has become normal programming on the blog. There are going to be more of these moving forward. You see I don't just love fashion. I also love music and movies and books and food and ballet and all that kind of stuff. And one of the things that I love most of all is the god that is Nick Cave. Have done for a million years. Well, since the 80s when my flatmate Graeme introduced us. I have subsequently seen Nick Cave live in concert many, many times. My first one was terrifying as it was my first experience of a post-punk mosh pit. But it also reduced me to tears at the beauty of songs like The Mercy Seat. And in Park City, Utah, this week — at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival — Nick Cave played that song again. Stripped back at the party after the screening of the new movie, 20,000 Days on Earth a sort-of documentary on the life and work of Nick Cave. I have been so excited about this for a long, long time. You know if the usually reluctant interviewee agrees to be filmed, that it is going to be good. And the reviews have been absolutely rave. If anyone can help a sister out with a copy of the movie, please let me know. In the mean while I voraciously read every story on the film, wonder exactly how the Blixa-breakup conversation is really going to go and look forward to seeing what cute little outfit Kylie Minogue will wear. Can't wait.
