Just when you thought we had seen the back of tangerine as a trend colour (well, emerald has replaced it as the Pantone colour of the year), suddenly you see four new outfits on the red carpet in one week, ALL in this dazzling hue. And I am so happy we did. I mean you can always count on dear old Kate Hudson to bring a flash of energy to the red carpet — here she is in Stella McCartney at the Elle Style Awards, held in London on Tuesday night. Lovely.

Also looking wonderful in tangerine was Katy Perry on Friday night, in the build up to the Grammy Awards. Katy's style has come along in leaps and bounds this year, and wearing this bold dress by Alexander McQueen kinda cements her status as one to watch. I think she looks great.

One of the actresses of the moment, Jennifer Lawrence, was also in citrus at the back end of last week, in the build up to the BAFTAs in London. No one can tell me who this dress is by, but it is FABULOUS, right? This is the kind of cut out detailing I can live with. And the metallic Jimmy Choo heels are a perfect match. LOVE.

Also wearing tangerine — and the same Choo heels — is actress/dancer/singer and girlfriend of Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough. This amazing trouser suit is by Diane von Furstenburg and I think it looks brilliant on her. Julianne has started to do some interesting things with her style so I will be monitoring it closely.
