Victoria Beckham Winter 2014 at New York Fashion Week
She just keeps getting better. To quote Mark Holgate from US Vogue Magazine, "That sound you're hearing? That would be @victoriabeckham having the last laugh." A few short years ago no one would take her seriously. When I started this blog and spoke openly about how much I liked her, people thought I was really strange. Now everyone wants a piece of my mate Victoria Beckham.
Her show yesterday at New York Fashion Week was accomplished and sophisticated. It was more 'fashion' than ever. It had signature pieces, to be sure, but it broke new ground too.
With VB's favoured length for a modern winter — midi — in dramatic evidence, the lines were sleek but oversized. There was pleating detail, a bit of a red colour splash here and there, trousers and skirts and coats, in the main. It was in the trims that the real surprises came — organza ruffles, chain fastenings and belts and some coordinated accessories.

Shoes were, as usual, Manolo Blahnik — and came in the form of a pointed court and a lace up, masculine brogue. VB's favourite shoes then. There is no doubt that I would have every piece of this collection in a heartbeat. It is a bold and complicated statement of fashion power from the posh Spice Girl, the WAG, the failed pop star. And I love it. Barvo Vicky B!
