Allison Williams for Town & Country Magazine, April 2013
Allison Williams is an emerging style star, by design. She is also an actress of some note, having filmed two series of the hit show GIRLS, directed and written by Lena Dunham. And she has landed a cover of a nice WASP-ish New York posh chick magazine Town & Country for April 2013. Things appear to be running to her masterplan.
She wears Oscar de la Renta on the cover, Giles and Zac Posen on the inside — a nice balance of conventional and risky, but always in a ball gown. I mean who doesn't need a selection of ball gowns for the parties and events we attend?
The images were shot by Blossom Berkofsky and styled by Sophie Pera. But sadly it appears that Allison takes her red carpet appearances very, very seriously, studying the images afterwards to make minute adjustments to her smile strength, body positioning and style choices. She would rather be considered humourless than unstylish. Wow. Ok. Not great. Hopefully, once some time has passed she will recognise that we would FAR rather she made a few bloopers and missteps than seem like she is no fun to hang with. Has she not read my piece on why actresses should be more like Claire Danes? Has she not learned from the great media-manufactured Oscar war of Anne Hathaway v Jennifer Lawrence? The fun girl always wins, dearie. And she has more fun.
