Claire Danes Covers US Vogue, August 2013
This is the cover story EVERYONE in the fashion industry is talking about. How did US Vogue take Claire Danes' character in Homeland, Carrie Mathison, and make this unpolished, broken FBI agent into a fashion story this good? I absolutely adore it. It helps that I love both Claire AND her character. And that they threw the delectable ginger that is Damian Lewis in there too.

Shot by Annie Liebowitz for the August 2013 issue of US Vogue, Claire is mesmerising and completely sexy in this stylised version of her character. It's almost like we are seeing another dimension to the character. Her dream self. Right there on the page of the magazine.
The clothing is great, of course, but so incredibly cleverly simple. It is led by the classic Burberry Prorsum trench on the cover — the wardrobe staple of detectives and sleuths everywhere. And then it goes to the sleek grey Victoria Beckham dress, the teal Calvin Klein and the red Donna Karan. Not one piece too fussy or fancy, but just much, much more glamorous.
The Hermes coat is as sexy as hell, the soft suede and expensive lining combining to make a functional piece a slice of luxury. And then there is the Narciso Rodriguez satin evening dress. With the open back and her derriere on full display. Man, this is good styling. Just perfect. I am in awe. This is the most exquisite restraint I have seen in a long time.
