I am not a watch person. With my mobile phone permanently attached to me, I have little use for it's time keeping. And really, what other function does a watch have? Well, consider me schooled. Last week my mates at Grazia magazine invited me along to a dinner — delicious — where we were given a sneak peek of the Guess watch trends for the new summer season. Just a heads up — rose gold, animal prints, midnight garden and denim were the key trend areas. As well as a review of the work Guess has been doing as part of their global Time to Give programme, which includes supporting a children's charity right here in South Africa.

The people at Guess and Grazia were SO GENEROUS that they gave us the best goodie bag I have ever received. Including a rose gold watch that has been on my arm ever since. I am not used to it quite yet, but I did realise two things: first of all that watches are actually another excuse for a fashion accessory (yay!) and that I found myself looking at my wrist for the time on Saturday. Who knows, they may have converted another member to their watch tribe! And if you are a watch person and are looking for a new fashion watch for the summer, I can highly recommend the Guess range. Go for it.
