From there, I stayed with colour — this time blue — and was seriously impressed with Scandal's Darby Stranchfield dropped waist Paper London cobalt dress. LOVE. Ming-na Wen from Political Animals was cute as a button in the animal print inspired David Meister print frock, and another cobalt sensation was worn by Grey's Anatomy actress Camilla Luddington whose skirt and crop top was also designed by Paper London. Winning.

There were an interesting selection of dresses in the black and white spectrum. I absolutely adored this top and skirt by Thakoon that Ahna O'Reilly wore. I don't know the actress, but I will be keeping an eye out for her now. Melonie Diaz wore something that was billed as black and white but looked more navy nautical to me. Whatever. I love it all. Gimme. The elegant Maria Bello did black and white in a very structured way — that felt a bit like it belonged earlier in the season — and 90210's Shenae Grimes went all mod in a striped black and white jacket and shorts. And managed to pull it off.

The paler ladies should all have taken notes from Brittany Snow who paired her Lela Rose dress with hot colour lipstick and clutch. This brought it to life. Yvonne Strahovski almost got it right in her Alexander McQueen knit dress, but Analeigh Tipton really should have put on a lip colour to lift her otherwise awesome Ermanno Scervino tunic and trouser look.

The biggest surprise for me was the Big Bang Theory's uber-nerd Mayim Bialik who looked delightful and cool and really rather hot in this amazing black and gold lace dress. Can you believe it??
