Ewa Sonnet Love
The dress is by a new, Monaco-based, designer, Patrice Papa. Which is convenient and all that. But c'mon. Surely someone has advised our girl that satin is a horror show for an evening gown? Surely? You can't sit in it and then get up and dance with the world's cameras trained on you and not expect to look like a crumpled mess. That's just what satin does. It is unflattering and cheap looking.
And let's not even mention the fact that this particular shade of turquoise can't help but look super-cheap. OK, we did mention it. But it is unavoidable. I am delighted to see her in colour. Really delighted. I am even happy with the colour. The style is fine. But if this dress had been in a crepe or silk chiffon, THEN we would have been happy. It would have been perfect. I just wish I could help a sister out every now and again.
In the current SA Marie Claire Charlene says how she wishes SA designers would take advantage of her position to send her potential garments to wear on the world stage. Obviously, then will need to be to her taste, but she is dead keen to promote our local fashion industry. So. Um. You know what to do, guys. Please. And NO SATIN. Thanks.
PS: As usual Princess Caroline is in black and white Chanel. Also, Charlene still looks happy. Good.
