Jennifer Lawrence for W Magazine, October 2012
It is always a bit tricky when photographers have to use young actresses for high-concept fashion editorials. It is hard for them to stop being actresses and become models. It's a disconnected body situation that makes angles and unexpected fames for the image. And an actress generally doesn't disconnect her body.
It works best with actresses like Charlize Theron who started out as a model. But with young talented girls like Jennifer Lawrence it is less believable. If very, very pretty.
For the latest issue of W Magazine, the star of the Hunger Games is placed into a situation with a lot of dead and stuffed birds — to showcase feathered dresses from high end designers — with the result that some images are more successful than others.
Jennifer wears — in order from the top — Calvin Klein, Prabal Gurung, Vivienne Westwood, Alberta Ferretti and Alexander McQueen. Feathers ahoy!
