Ewa Sonnet Love
Her speech was heartfelt and sweet — and actually quite personal to the work she has been doing in the UK with hospice and children's palliative care. I was impressed. Especially when she finished and the person who clapped loudest and just a bit too long was her clearly devoted husband, Prince William.
Taking some shade from a parasol was the only sign things were a bit hot, but it became clear that the smiles and the joy at being on this tour was not reserved for the cameras, with a private moment being captured in their car alone, and giant smiles are still firmly in place. I really have to admire this girl.
Going about her day in stifling heat, standing for long periods, making small talk with strangers, being effortlessly gracious and dignified, dressing for a globally critical audience — and doing it all with seemingly genuine good spirits is a complete marvel to me. Don't tell me this girl wasn't born to it, even though she is a mere 'commoner'. If I had to vote for a royal, I would vote for Kate. Hands down.
Especially when she turns up at State Dinner occasions looking like this in Alexander McQueen. Right? Perfectly pitched for the style of the country she is in, as well as looking like a Princess. Stunning.
And excuse me, are those quirky gold wishbones for earrings? I love it!! No diamonds or rubies or royal-like jewels. The dress is enough for that. No, an actual spark of personality just quietly in the ears. I am practically weeping with joy at this small sign of rebellion. Huzzah. Go Kate.
