It was the world premier of the new Diana movie last night and it took place in London. The star of the film, Naomi Watts, turned out in a sleek white floor-sweeper with an asymmetric neckline. It was Versace. Which actually surprised me as I would have expected it to fit a bit better and have more of a finish to it. But Versace it was.

Of course Diana herself was a massive fan of Versace, wearing the line many times, and personally befriending Gianni Versace when he was still alive. It was said that they were actually very close. So Naomi choosing this label was clever and respectful, and possibly not that kind to herself, as it is not an absolutely signature look for her.

Having said that, quibbles about fit and styling aside, Ms Watts certainly stood out against the red carpet, brought the requisite pizazz to the red carpet and managed to look elegant and pretty, despite being terrified at the response that people will have to her role.

Later, after the screening, Naomi changed into a black mini dress with sheer neck detailing and headed out for the after party. I could do with a night out in a fancy London night spot right now to be honest. Wish I could have joined her. I like her, even if I didn't totally love her dresses.
