Jewel By Lisa is absolutely one of my favourite African designers, having first seen her collections back in 2009 I believe, at Africa Fashion Week. Her work with traditional Ankara fabrics, which she overlays with handcrafted beading and embellishments, is a revelation and perfectly captures that modern tradition of African style that we are working so hard to define.
