The new movie Thor: The Dark World premiered in London last night. The female star is Natalie Portman. A bit of a come down, one would think, from her Oscar winning role in The Black Swan. But who am I to judge such things. I will save my judgements exclusively for the outfits.

This outfit is Dior. There are plusses and minuses. On the plus side, it fits and looks lovely and has pockets. This is very good. On the minus side, it should have been hemmed to the intended princess length — that is to say, more mid-calf than on the ankle. It's prettier that way. Less tinfoil lampshade, if you know what I mean. But Natalie is very pretty here, the back is lovely and her short arms are mitigated, so I think it comes out on the side of a win. What do you think?
