Princess Charlene of Monaco in Gucci
Blimey. I wasn't expecting Gucci. HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco (and us) usually wears Akris. A touch of Chanel. Some Ralph Lauren. Armani definitely. But now, for the first time that we have seen on a public engagement, onse Charlene wears Gucci. And looks amazing.
The black ruffled gown with a strappy bare back (a new favourite style for her) was a floor sweeper and designed especially for her, drawing from existing frocks in the fall/winter 2012 collection.
Of course Princess Charlotte, Charlene's niece-in-law, is already a key face of Gucci as well as involved on a creative basis. So it isn't that strange that someone from the house of Grimaldi wears the collection. However, it is just very far outside Charlene's usual comfort zone.
But it works and was totes appropes for her visit to Florence, Italy. This may be the most beautiful that she has ever looked. Even with absolutely no jewellery and subtle makeup. It really is the mark of a truly beautiful woman. Very nicely done Charls.
