I really like this Proenza Schouler look on Rooney Mara. I used to love her stripped back, goth-adjacent, fashion moves. Then they got a bit predictable and therefore the lustre wore off. But this dress is not remotely predictable. It is awesome. Rooney was looking like this at the premier of the new movie Her at the 2013 New York Film Festival, on Sunday night.

Those pleats with different fabrics are amazing. The leather seamed bodice is fantastic — especially since it is bang up to date with the midriff revealing portion. I think it works.

I even like the make-up. I know that the red eye shadow trend is unpopular, but on Rooney, with this look, I think she lands up looking extraordinarily beautiful. Don't you?
