Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, in Orla Kiely Re-wear
I love it when Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, wears her brown opaque tights and suede ankle boots. It is young and modern and accessible. It's how a smart thirty year old should be dressing. I also like it when she re-wears pieces from her wardrobe, like this Orla Kiely coat dress that she first wore back in Feb 2012, from the winter 2011 collection.
Kate got this two-year-old wool jacquard patterned coat dress on sale originally, and now has been thrifty enough to get back out again for another totally appropriate occasion. However, usually when Kate recycles looks she mixes things up a bit — different shoes or hair styling — something to demarcate it as a new look. This time she didn't. It is an exact carbon copy, down to the flying hair in the breeze of a chilly winter's day.
I am getting a bit tired of always going on about her hair. I so loved it for the first few years of getting to know her and her style. But I shall never give up. I'm not asking for much. Just a bit of variation. Just a bit of keeping up with the times, rather than being stuck in a style rut.
Having said all that. She really looked lovely yesterday, and I am sure that the Only Connect charity and all it's beneficiaries were properly pleased with the amount of attention it attracted to them. Good girl. (Oh, yes, she does have grey strands in her hair. So what? So do I. Just relax. It's completely normal and good for her for not getting up tight about it.)
