Today the 2012 Miss South Africa, Melinda Bam, heads off to the US compete in the Miss Universe pageant. And we wish her all the luck in the world. We will be keeping tabs on her progress. Progress that I am somewhat horrified to say may be slightly hampered by the dreadful evening dress she revealed at her farewell event last night. Awful beaded and shiny Little Mermaid monstrosity of horror. Fingers are firmly crossed that her other dresses are significantly better than that one. PLEASE. Anyhoodle, the girl will be well shod, as she is sponsored by Europa Art. And recently Melinda shot a campaign for their summer collection of shoes and accessories.

And while the photos are rather distressingly over photoshopped, I am rather taken with these images from the campaign. Shot by Garreth Barclay, the combination of swimwear and day shoes is fresh and cool. And Melinda looks great. Very fashion, as opposed to glamour model. And hot. Nothing wrong with a toned, fit, curvy body. Exactly what is needed to compete in international pageants. I like this. Go get 'em Melinda!
