Three of the girl from GIRLS hit up London last night for the Season 3 premier of the hit TV series. And in some weird stroke of fashion magic, Allison Williams in Alexander McQueen was not the best dressed of the trio. Lena Dunham actually looked rather nice in her pretty white floral lace Erdem dress with pockets. That fit her. And looked pretty. I actually REALLY like this.

I mean, there is nothing not to love about this look. The make-up is great. The growing-out hair looks nice. The shoes are fabulous. And the dress very, very lovely. Who would have guessed it?

And then there was Zosia Mamet. You know how I have come to adore her new — pared back — style. This blush jumpsuit is by Elisabetta Franchi and does everything to bolster my belief that a stylish jumpsuit is the perfect premier look. Zosia brings her own edge to it to prevent it from being twee. And it lands us being sublime. Sensational. Good girl.

And then there was Allison. In her bejewelled, floor sweeper of a halter neck McQueen. And whilst she looks beautiful of course — isn't that red lip fantastic — she kinda looks over dressed for the occasion. And that may work for her beautifully in New York, but in London it is a massive FASHION SIN. Being seen to be trying too hard is tantamount to fashion suicide, and you land up on the bottom of the list AFTER Lena and Zosia. Now that is a faux pas if ever I posted one.
