The FLOTUS Michelle Obama kicked off the whole 2013 US Presidential Inauguration weekend at the private swearing in ceremony wearing a lovely blue print Reed Krakoff dress and matching cardigan. This was a family occasion so it was a played-down style performance.

Mrs O she stuck to her winning style formula of fit and flare dress, cardigan and Jimmy Choo kitten heels for the occasion. Lovely.

Of course the real style star of this leg of the inauguration was the eldest Obama daughter, Malia. She wore am ADORABLE H&M dress that I am guessing must be sold out already. Just as tall as her parents already, Malia is being forced into carefully choosing her wardrobe these days as everything she wears gets assessed. It seems strange to think that she will be an adult by the time the next four years are up. Dating, driving, probably drinking. Let's hope she sticks to the fashion path she is on, because it is shaping up to be good.

Later Mrs O knocked our socks off at the public reception, where she emerged in a dazzling black sequin shift by Michael Kors. This was definitely her moment to shine and she managed it beautifully. Pitched just right, seeing as it was the night before the main ball.
