Some of the best dresses on the 2013 Oscars red carpet last night were dazzling in metallic. Starting with Jessica Chastain, who wore rose gold Armani, fitted to perfection and exquisitely paired with her colouring.

Also Naomi Watts was STUNNING. She was also wearing Armani — hers in silver, and a little more high fashion. Three of the five ladies in the best actress category wore Armani, which is a fashion coup of unheard of proportions. But the thing I liked most about Naomi was that her partner, Liev was making the whole thing about her. Taking her picture with his phone and letting her do all the talking on the red carpet. What respect.

And then there was Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen. Probably the best dress she has ever worn and she looks sensational. I just wish she would stop wearing pale, washed out colouring with her skin tone. First, it is boring. Second, she simply looks better in colour. Still this dress is so outstanding she totally gets away with it. Amazing.
