2013 Oscars Vanity Fair Party Red Carpet — Shades of Pale
So the trend from the 2013 Oscars red carpet continued on that of the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. An after party, if you will. And that is that all the prettiest dresses were in shades of pale. I was IN LOVE with Zooey Deschanel in Valentino and Kate Bosworth in Giambattista Valli. The delicate floral embroidery was just sublime and made even me feel all girly. I think that the styling of Zooey's ensemble is particularly charming and she looks as pretty as she ever has.
Ol' short-arms, Natalie Portman made an appearance at this after party. She looked amazing in Christian Dior, with the empire line doing wonders for her proportions. And those emerald earrings were a masterstroke. This may be the best outfit I have ever seen her in. Star of GIRLS, Allison Williams, looked beautiful in classic Valentino — this silhouette really suits her and she has earned her place in my book of stars to watch on the red carpet. And one of my all-time funny-girl favourites, Rose Byrne, was wearing Lanvin. And looked kick-ass. This look is faultless. After hating the pale for so long, this was actually the red carpet where I thought it worked. Thank you ladies.
