2013 Vanity Fair Oscars Party Red Carpet — Colour Pops

After all the pale, white and pretty, I was DELIGHTED to see all the colour on the red carpet of the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars Party. Not just delighted, actually relieved. It was such a treat to see, and in such dazzling display. First of all, there were two standouts. Elizabeth Banks in Alexander McQueen silk, was my winner. I die for this dress. And the metal belt. And I love her. Did you know she was the producer of Pitch Perfect? Brilliant. LOVE.
Then there was the ever gorgeous Solange Knowles in Emilio Pucci (good night for Pucci at this year's Oscars, no doubt). The stridently bold yellow was arresting, but so very true to Solange — who always brings out the big guns in yellow. Winning.
And I liked the smaller players too. Leslie Mann was, as ever, a gift in burnt orange Andrew Gn. The beadwork was super and I love the shade with her colouring. Take note ladies of the strawberry blonde... I will admit that Anne Hathaway was pretty in Saint Laurent. I wish she had chosen this for the ceremony — not that I LOVE it you understand, just that there are no obvious nipples on show. And she looks comfy, which I always think is a good thing. And then there was a little pocketful of spangle in the form of Ginnifer Goodwin in Monique Lhullier. And I think this dress is a delight. Maybe not a Oscars-level delight, but it does first no harm. And makes me smile. So I like it. Good.
