Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, in Blue LK Bennett
Wearing the most popular colour of the season, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, spent Valentine's Day, last Friday, working with her Art Room charity — she is the patron — at Northolt High School in Ealing in West London. For the occasion she was dressed in LK Bennett, one of her favourite high street stores, and definitely a good choice for charity work. It seems inappropriate to wear designer clobber when on a charity day.
The dress is called the Detroit Dress and has a cool notched collar detail, into a defined waist and a length that goes to just under the knee. All terribly appropriate and regal. And of course it is completely sold out — within an hour of her appearance in it. The Kate Effect continues.
I actually really like this on Kate. It is young and modern and reasonably within what a happening thirty-something woman would wear to a work function. I also like her attitude as ever. Enthusiastic, joyful and fully involved with the people and tasks at hand. This is one of her most admirable qualities.
I must also mention that her hair is also absolutely fine here. Not over-styled with silly curls, just blown out and natural. Good girl.
