It is Paris Fashion Week right now. They are showing autumn/winter 2013 if you are keeping score. And of course the lady actors who want some kind of style positioning in their competitive markets, head out there hoping to build that profile. The profile that Kirsten Dunst has carved out over the years is one of quirky classicism. Plenty of big name brands — Louis Vuitton, YSL — mixed up with indie labels like Band of Outsiders. But in Paris yesterday she stuck with the formula, wearing black and white at the Saint Laurent show, which she attended with her boyfriend, Garrett Hedlund.

Someone bucking the trend for monochrome in Paris was Jessica Chastain. She powered her way past my fashion ennui this morning by bursting into colour. BAM! Look at her go.

Also attending Saint Laurent, Jess did an amazing job of looking outstanding, shocking, attention seeking, whilst losing nothing in class and dignity. This was a fashion power play and it worked. I am actually in awe of her right now. Amazing.
