Kate Middelton, Duchess of Cambridge, in Malene Birger On The Tube
This week Twitter turned seven and The London Underground turned 150 years old. Amazing. To celebrate, HRH The Queen took along her husband and her granddaughter in law, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, to celebrate. At Baker Street tube station. How lovely.
For the occasion, Kate pulled out another coat we haven't seen, this one is teal wool with black embellished trim, and is by designer Malene Birger. Although some said it wasn't. It was confusing there for a while. But we believe it is a Malene Birger design at this stage.
Sha paired the coat with her usual black tights, gloves and shoes, and popped on a rather fetching hat. Which got me thinking. How hard it must be to look modern and relevant and a bit trendy when you have to wear a hat half the time. Which is by design, quite old fashioned. So well done that Kate maintained a shorter length on the coat, keeping a bit of youth to it. And the badge she was awarded — Baby on Board — is of course never going to be used since the poor girl can never just pop out on the tube again. But she had a laugh anyway.
HRH The Queen looked wonderful, as she does, all spring-ready in her Angela Kelly cream hat and coat. With her jewels of course. What's a queen without her diamonds? She makes me so happy here.
