It was the 2012 Billboard Music Awards last night over in the US. And once again, for me, Taylor Swift really brought it style-wise, dominating the red carpet with her bold and sexy red Elie Saab dress of gloriousness. And if there was any other colour on the red carpet last night, you would be hard pressed to find it — so double thumbs up to Taylor.

Katy Perry went a slight shade of lilac on her Blumarine dress, and Alicia Keys' Azzedine Alaia was spectacularly simple and black. Carrie Underwood did look very nice, but her Oscar de la Renta dress verged on the ridiculous for a Billboard red carpet — in my opnion.

And then the rest of the girls wore shades of beige. I loved Zoe Deschanel's Moschino most of all. I think she looked adorable as usual. And Julianne Hough was precious in her wrap of spangle. But I am conflicted about Miley Cyrus in Jean Paul Gaultier. I think she looks amazing. But I am not convinced by the very un-perky side book that is evident from a side angle. On a teenager. I'm just not sure, you know.

And then the rest of the girls in beige just didn't make it work — yes I am talking to you Brandy, and you Nelly Furtado also in JPG. And you, Jordin Sparks in your lacy DvF. Just because you are skinny now and dating Jason Derulo, doesn't mean we don't want to see you looking bold and beautiful. Ok? Good chat. Thanks.
