Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, in Roland Mouret and Jimmy Choo Sparkles
OMG. I die. Have you seen these shoes? Just as I got a bit stroppy last week about Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, choice of footwear (I wasn't the only one. Brian Atwood caused quite the kerfuffle a few days later...) she goes ahead and wears these gorgeous, sparkling silver Jimmy Choo sandals to an event last night.
And they were ideally paired with the incredibly simple and sleek white Roland Mouret column dress with the high neck and daring slit up the front. Impeccably chic. Really. Especially when you notice the dark red pedicure, perfectly pitched with the utter stripped-back simplicity of the dress.
The dress is actually from a 2009 collection of RM for Roland Mouret. We don't know whether Kate has had it for a while and was just hanging onto it. Or whether it was one of her canny bargain buys. Either way, it was a great dress to bring out for the posh dinner of The Thirty Club that Prince William was addressing last night at the Claridges Hotel in London. This dinner club is made up of influential people from media and advertising.
Both ex-first lady of France, Carla Bruni, and model Amber Valetta wore a teal version of this dress back in 2009 and 2010. But there is no record of it being worn in white. Well done Kate! This is great. Designer duds and sparkly shoes. And not a sheer pantyhose in sight. This is what I like to wake up to. Yay.
