Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, Recycles Missoni
As the Diamond Jubilee celebrations roll on through into the East Midlands of England, it is apparent that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has used up her clothing budget. And so, being the clever clogs that she is, she is recycling perfectly lovely pieces for looks that are still totes appropes. Yesterday it was the lovely blue M Missoni coat that she wore to Fortnum and Mason while Wills was away. Yesterday he was there, cracking jokes and keeping his wife and granny very entertained.
Of course it has also become apparent that HRH The Queen and Kate have become besties. They are so cute together as they both never stop smiling all the way through these official engagements. My how things have changed in the royal family. I remember a time when everything was so stoic and fraught and no one ever seemed to have a good time.
Kate's hair continued to improve with less tumbling curl, and more cool twists up top. But the shoes were a let down. Last time she wore this coat (with the blue Zara dress from the day after her wedding underneath again), she paired it with suede Prada courts. This time it is functional navy pumps. A bit nurse or stewardess uniform for my tastes. But the hat is new and lovely and by Rachel Trevor Morgan, who also did Queenie's hat for this occasion. Lovely.
