2013 Comic Con Best Dressed: In Black and White
There were three stand-out looks in my opinion in the newly introduced category of Best Dressed in Black and White and the 2013 Comic Con this past weekend. The leader of the pack was the smiling Olsen, Elizabeth Olsen, who wore an adorable Balenciaga Resort shorts and top set.
I love the proportions on this, as well as how it is cute, youthful, event-appropriate and looks amazing on her. Not everyone can carry of this silhouette, but baby Olsen does it with aplob. I love this look.
The there was Lily Collins. Usually I can't bare this young woman's style — all over made up and trying too hard. I guess if your dad is a famous musician, you have to try harder, or something? But this Paper London little cropped top and skort vibes are great. Sassy and suitable. I like it.
I loved the phenomenal Jennifer Lawrence in this white Alexander McQueen dress — with those cool Nicholas Kirkwood blue lace shoes. Her hair and make-up was good. She looked happy, and she more than held her own alongside Anna Pacquin and Halle Berry.
But she also wore this Proenza Schouler black and white outfit on the weekend at Comic Con. Sigh. No. No, no, no, no, no. The fringe just reminds me why I don't actually want to cut mine back again. The skirt quite simply doesn't fit her, or scale to her slight proportions. And the shoes are wrong. Just wrong. The top's not bad though. Look away now. Let's pretend it didn't happen. Also. Please, Jen, fire your stylist. She is doing wrong by you. Thanks.
