Trust the slightly older and wiser ladies to all really bring it on the fashion front at 2013 Comic Con this weekend. They have been around the block a couple of times and know what works at this festival of geek. Which is basically a fantasy playing field, filled with nerds dressed up as sci-fi characters. What's appropriate for that? Well, your own kind of crazy. As ably demonstrated by Scarlett Johansson in her 70s-inspired psychedelic Verscase shift dress. Very nice.

My book club mate, Emily Bunt also got the memo. She wore this amazing Wes Gordon purple and pink shift that was just dressy enough, but with a full dose of unexpected and loud thrown in. The shoes were a particular treat in their absolute pinkness.

And Sandra Bullock is the high priestess of such gatherings. She wore this bold red Roland Mouret dress for the press call and chat. She looked great, but really, she doesn't have to do anything except turn up. The nerds love her. Well, we all love her.
