Tilda Swinton in Valentino Couture — Twice in Seoul
The magnificence that is Tilda Swinton went and did something a bit different yesterday in Seoul, South Korea. Known for wearing more avant garde designer creations, or those of her favourites like Chanel and Haider Ackermann, yesterday she wore Valentino Couture. Twice.
Whilst promoting her new movie, Snowpiercer, Tilda Swinton chose the most challenging of Valentino's collection, pieces in unexpected shades of gold. For the press conference, she wore a brocade coat with an exaggerated collar and kimono sleeve. I love this coat. It really requires the height that the Swinton brings to it. I'm not sure many others could bring the elegance and sheer MAJESTY to it that Tilda Swinton does. This is a win, I think.
And then she wore a dress from the same collection for the evening premier. With a longer rear train detail. And a lion on the breast. And whilst I don't love the dress, I'm not sure that anyone else could be more appropriate to wear it. It's in the same golden family as the coat she wore earlier, and if there is anyone more lion-like that Tilda Swinton, I'd like to know because I can't think of any. I do adore the shoes — a neutral snakeskin court — and let's be honest, it's good to see the Swinton's pins for a change. For they are good. Loving your work.
