David Beckham in His Pants for H&M, Fall 2013
Look I don't know if you really have 'seasons' per se in underwear design, but I am not complaining this morning. The gorgeous David Beckham stripped off his kecks for us once more to herald his latest range of undies that he designed — and modelled — for H&M.
Two things really strike me with this photo shoot. The first is that David is ageing. The lines are deepening and that finely chiselled visage is showing the signs of so much time spent outdoors kicking a ball about. And it is good. I absolutely adore the way it is giving his looks depth and dimension.
The second thing that I noticed was that there really only appeared to be one pair of undies. The rest of his collection looks pretty much like pyjamas and lounge-around-the-house gear. I know there isn't really a fashion category for that, but it's not like this is just a range of knickers and vests like it used to be. This too is a good development. It shows progress.
So David is looking fine, showing development in his underwear collection and retired from professional football. How much longer can it be until he announces a range of day wear for men? Surely it can't be too long...
We know that David is opening a new restaurant in London with Gordon Ramsey next month. Called Union Street Cafe, the eatery looks quite fancy even though it is down in Borough, south of the river and the City. Apparently it is in an old converted warehouse and will serve Mediterranean dishes.
I will certainly add that to my list of things to do next time I am in my old stomping ground in London. And maybe I will also pick up a pair of these trackie pants from the high street while I am about it. They look pretty comfy to me.
