Kate Middleton in Day Birger et Mikkelson At Paralympic Games Opening 2012
A golden coat dress by Belgian design house Day Birger et Mikkelson has never seen such action! To start with it is six years old. First worn back in 2006, and worn four times since, this is the outfit that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge wore to the opening ceremony of the London Paralympic Games 2012 last night. And in it she shone.
The lovely gold shade, paired with a gold clutch and her usual shoes by LK Bennett, ensured that she looked beautiful and subtle at the games shindig. Of course she has worn this look only to weddings in the past — that of Zara Phillips a short while ago, last May to Mel Nicholson's, and in 2006 to Laura Parker Bowles'. Each time she has swapped out the hat and shoes to ensure a bit of freshness. It's cool. It is a beautiful piece and it deserves a few outings, don't you think?

Kate and Wills were at the ceremony alongside Princess Anne, Edward and Sophie, HRH The Queen (of course) as well as our own royal HSH Princess Charlene, who was there with her husband Prince Albert of Monaco. More subdued than they were at the Olympics, let's hope the sports action brings the smiles back to their — and everyone else — faces over the next two week.
