The irrepressible pop singer Katy Perry was chosen to cover the September issue of the UK ELLE magazine. Which is super awesome because I like her and I think that she is the coolest of the pop singers. You can keep your Gagas and Rihannas. I'm declaring myself team-Perry. And doesn't she look good? She is wearing a plaid Dolce and Gabbana shorts suit, with Louboutins on her feet.

Inside the magazine she talks about nearly losing someone she loved — John Meyer — and about her friendship with Robert Pattinson and how that was misconstrued. She really isn't one of those stars who holds back so it makes for fascinating reading. I'm going to pick up a copy. I want to see more of this shoot by photographer Mariano Vivanco and Katy wearing Miu Miu (the black) and Prada (the stripe). Running to the book store now...
