The Launch of Skattie Magazine: The Performance and Visual Art Issue
Last Friday, in between fashion week activities, I attended the launch of a new magazine edited by Skattie What Are You Wearing blogger Malibongwe TyiloSkattie magazine was developed as part of an incubator project that Mali is leading, and we hope that the online magazine will now be a quarterly publication.
The first issue is the performance and visual arts one — with stories and expressions and photo essays and images all happily coexisting with all the fun blogger-style pictures that Mali takes as part of his street style journey. So, as you page through, you can spot what all the cool kids are wearing as well as enjoy more in-depth analysis and exploration of subjects of performance and art. Like a perfect little creative lifestyle window for 2013.
Knowing Mali, I fully expect an issue dedicated to cats, which I know will go down well in hipster Cape Town. But really there could be any number of creative subjects that he and his team of mini-Skatties will tackle for this project. I am already excited about the next one. When can we expect it?
