Granny Chic: Fabulous Fashionistas in Retirement

I was absolutely delighted to see this story in the Mail this morning. It is all about a new UK TV show called Fabulous Fashionistas, which follows six stylish pensioners who don't let their advanced years get in the way of looking sensational.
I already have a favourite. Her name is Jean Woods and she is 75 years old and is still wearing her Doc Martens and her hair in a razor sharp bob. I am obsessed with this look. How utterly fantastic is she?
Madame Brigit Sojourner is also 75 and rocks a turban like it aint no thang. And of course I am going to be all about ol' Sue Kreitzman and her fantastic red spectacle frames and bold accessories, many of which she still makes herself. LOVE.
And while these women are not about looking younger, they are all about not becoming invisible and irrelevant as they get older. It is the absolute curse of women, still, that when they are over 70 they are disregarded and tuned out. Not these broads. And I plan to follow in their footsteps.
What a brilliant idea for a TV show. I hope we get to see it on our screens in South Africa. Imagine how inspirational it will be for people struggling with age and still loving style.
