I'm not sure why, but this kind of evening wear makes my heart sing. That simple, everyday blouse tucked into an amazing long skirt says classic elegance to me. It is an accessible way to do evening wear. I also think it is brave and individual. No one else at this event looked like this — they all wore ball gowns. Jessica Alba came along and smashed it in this confident look by Juan Carlos Obando.

Jess had also looked incredible earlier in the day making an appearance on Extra. She wore a cropped top and high waisted skirt by Tanya Taylor in that amazing woven print. The Celine shoes are pretty good too. Very nice.

And then, just to round out her weekend, Jessica attended the premier of her new movie A.C.O.D. wearing this little black outfit, comprising a Narcisco Rodriguez knit crop top (again) and layered mini skirt and white Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. The clutch is by Max Mara. Very, very nice efforts.
