Kate wore a cool print dress by young British designer Jonathan Saunders, which was exciting. Although I will say it was rather spoiled by the strange decision to wear the Jane Taylor cocktail hat with it. I found it a bit too much for a very relaxed island nation.
Although I rather enjoyed the extra colour the leis added and thought that it worked well with the dress and its geometric design clashing beautifully with the florals.
Later Kate had a last minute wardrobe change for dinner as she was surprised with a gift from the Governer-General and his wife, a colourful strapless dress from an island store called Island Print. She chose to forego the dress she was going to wear and replace it with the gift.
Which she paired with bare legs (gasp!) and her wedge heels that I prefer. In fact I think that if she had just tied her hair up in a ponytail, it is exactly how I would have dressed her for this occasion.
And finally, just his morning, Kate and Wills attended a rather more dressed-down coronation ceremony than the ones that they are used to. Kate was crowned an Island Princess with a crown of flowers. Which I think looked rather more fetching than diamonds. But that's just me.
For the event, Kate popped on a bright yellow cotton high street dress from Jaeger, which would have set her budget back all of £180. And it was perfect. Only another four days of the tour to go. What will Kate wear next?
