Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, Heads Back Home in Erdem
Just as she arrived, so she leaves. Pretty in florals. In the second Erdem dress of the tour, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, popped on a fresh floral frock and hopped on a plane to Brisbane, from which her and Prince William will head back to London, concluding the South East Asia Jubilee Tour.
It was a tour marred by the topless picture scandal and subsequent legal action. But it was also a tour characterised by a Duchess who can handle anything and come out smiling and graceful. I can't help but be impressed by her absolute dedication to thinking of others and not her own feelings. Bloody amazing. I was not as impressed with her hair choices. Taking along a personal hairdresser for the first time DID NOT pay off. She has become lazy and settled in her hair styles and it needs a drastic youthful freshening up. Soonest, please.
It was also a tour that showed us some brand new style choices though. Good ones. A shift from the, um, shift dress — over to the belted 50s style dress with flared skirts — either with a classic boat neck or a button shirt-neck. This style REALLY suits her figure and I adore the move.
We have also seen a great deal of broderie anglais which is a personal choice of the Duchess. And I like it. Very ladylike and summer fresh. Stand back. We will now see a lot more on the high street in homage to her. Way to set trends lady.
Finally we have seen a lot of gorgeous florals. A lot more of yellow than we expected. A softening on the reliance on blue. And THAT purple print Prabal Gurung dress of all wonderful dresses. The highest fashion point of the tour. Next time I'd like to see more of that. And more pink maybe. Just saying.
UPDATE: Apparently the dress is not Erdem but Project D from Dannii Minogue. That makes more sense. Lovely dress.
