Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, Shows Her Spirit (Fingers)
It is always a bit tricky when being asked to perform in an impromptu manner in public. It is especially awkward when the cameras of the world are trained on you and are ready to expose your every flaw. So Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge's, enthusiasm to do the traditional dance of the island Tuvulu on Monday night was admirable. Respect.

Of course she started off on a good footing, dressed as she was in a beautiful Alice by Temperley maxi dress that I would very much like to have in my wardrobe. Please. Before it got covered in leaves and grass skirting.

She also did a solid job keeping up with the locals and looking half decent as she danced. Unlike her less enthusiastic and coordinated husband. Who was all spirit fingers and hip thrusts. In the manner of many, many of the straight men I have known and loved in my life. Bless.

The next morning KATE LISTENED TO ME! Huzzahs all round. Hair tied up! Seriously I could weep with relief. It was clearly a very hot day because the lady went bare legged as well.
Wearing a beautiful primrose yellow dress — HRH The Queen's favourite colour — Kate looked sunshine perfect in the pretty 50s style. The dress was made by 'an independent dressmaker' apparently. In other words not by a 'name' designer and no one can find out who this designer is. Whomever it is, the dress is perfect. So pretty.

I am so pleased Kate saved this dress for the last official day of engagements. It ends the tour on a high note gives us something to remember as they are carried off from the events in a way that seems to becoming ever more comfortable — carried atop the shoulders of half naked men. I could get into that.
