In her first official appearance since the break up of her marriage to Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes presented an award to Carolina Herrera at the 2012 Style Awards this week in New York City. For the occasion, Katie took no chances and wore Carolina's own design.

And I think it looked amazing on her. The simplicity of the black shirt, paired with the flared drape of the skirt — to a length that is flattering on her legs — is all good. And the heel is very elegant.

Not quite as elegant as the heels she wore going about her business yesterday. I adore that nude cross-foot strap. Awesome. Not that Joey Potter can wear heels again, she is going all out to get the best. Good girl. Looking forward to her collection that she is showing at fashion week on Sunday.
