It has been a while since my mate Victoria Beckham has done sexy. Well, in an obvious way. It's been a few years. But, with a constantly evolving style, it was always going to come back around at some point. And she chose to do so late last week — with a dress from her own SS14 collection. At a major fashion event which she attended with David and Anna Wintour.

Seriously. This is a big deal. VB had eschewed sexy in favour of fashion. Now she is learning that you can have both, just making sure there is balance. Like this dress. It is a demure midi length. She is completely covered in fabric. But it plays with sheers and cut outs to maximise the allure. And the hair isn't in her favoured pony tail, but sleeked back and grown up.

There is nothing trashy about this dress, but her husband of more than a decade is completely smitten. Vicky always says she designs for herself and women like her. I think we can safely say that, with David's retirement, and their family complete, VB is bringing the sexy back. Huzzahs all round.
