Candice Swanepoel for Elle Brazil, September 2012

I don't know how we missed this editorial featuring our very own SA supermodel, Candice Swanepoel. We certainly caught the cover — all the way back at the end of August here on the blog. It is Elle Brazil of course — the place where local girl Candice makes her second home. Or maybe it is her third home as New York is where she lives? Although the puppies live in Brazil, so...
Moving on.
This is a sports-sexy story, featuring an interesting combination of swimwear and sports apparel. And some super striking accessories and shoes. Such beautiful shoes.
The story plays up Candice's sex appeal, really moving the editorial into that new and confusing territory where clothing for women is showcased in poses that are really aimed at men. Or women wanting to look like that for their men. I'm not sure.
I blame grubby Uncle Terry Richardson of course. Although this particular story was shot by photographer Eduardo Rezende.
The story was shot on location in Turkey, and I have to be respectful about this, Candice worked HARD on this story. This wasn't one of those that shot a bunch of looks and chose the top picture of the top looks, so you are always guaranteed to get a good one in there somewhere. No, this story featured multiple images of the same looks. So she had to have at least five or six or more good, different, surprising shots in every look. Amazing.
The story was styled by fashion editor Susana Barbosa and the face was painted by Marcelo Gomes.
