Dame Helen Mirren Premier Style
So it appears that the utterly delightful Dame Helen Mirren (a real Dame, and the lady I want to be when I grow up, before I become Iris Apfel), has settled on a style for her Hitchock premiers. And it is a magnificent style. She is sticking with the black and gold of the Dolce & Gabbana fall 2012 line. Good girl. It looks incredible. That's two for two well played.
And as hard as she tried, that bore of an actress, Mrs Timberlake, Jessica Biel, couldn't match the class and style of our Helen. With side boob action, bare back, slit up to her under-bottom and a host of frills, Jess deployed the mighty Gucci to try and match our lady.
But with a twinkle in her eye and a sexy smirk on her face, Helen will always outplay Jessica, no matter what she is wearing. And the Gucci is fine. Just too try-hard.
Looking really lovely in red was Aussie actress Toni Collette, who stayed patriotic in Australian designer Alex Perry. Oh Muriel. Beautiful, sleek and perfectly fitted, the whole thing would have been a pleaser if the shoes were better. But I like her a lot. And so it appeared did Dame Helen. The two of them were thick as thieves all night long. Lovely.
