So we gave poor old Jennifer Lawrence a style slap-down last week when she wore that Dior suit and neck scarf. Now we need to move on. You know how much I like the girl, so let's have a look at the three outfits she has worn since then on her promotional tour for her movie Silver Linings. Let's begin with a better Dior offering. This is short and sassy, beautifully belted and her hair is lovely as it is taken up into a classic bun. I still think that the heavy satin is too much for a young girl, so this gets a 5.5/10 from me. An improvement on the WHY of last week. But not brilliant.
And then Jen stepped out in this. A dress of grey sensation. It is T by Alexander Wang — youthful, fun, sexy and sleek. Perfect to show off her body — that she works at to be strong rather than thin. I love this. I especially love that she zipped up the skirt so there is no slit (imagine sitting down with a slit up to your lady junk?). And I super-love the shoes. Ah, Jen, this is how to do it. With her fringe out of her face, she scores an 8/10 for this attempt. Yay.
And then she appeared on the Ellen show. Wearing Stella McCartney. In print. I can't remember seeing her in much print before. And it works. Again it makes the whole thing age-appropriate for her. And really pretty. I love this on her. I can't see her shoes, but her hair is tied back and her stunning eyes are shining through. I love it. 8.5/10 for this look — a best yet.
