Apparently there is a colour code when you dress for an event that celebrates mums and babies. It is, of course, therefore my duty to let you guys know, just in case. Heaven forbid that you should attend a shindig like this Baby2Baby Gala on the weekend, and wear, I don't know, black or something. Both A-list mummy attendees, Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie wore muted pink.

Jessica wore hers rather brilliantly in sugary sweet Valentino. She looked utterly sublime. So pretty. Even if it is a bit twee for my taste.

Nicole's 20s-inspired look — by Lorena Sarbu — is much more my bag. I love the beautiful draped open back and the slinky train. It is slightly more sexy than it is pretty. Both totally appropriate. Both in the pink. Nicole's with the edge — and a House of Harlow clutch. Lovely.
