Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, Wears Max Mara to Cambridge
Yay! Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, eventually managed to go and visit the city of Cambridge yesterday. For the first time since she became it's Duchess. Which is a relief since it would have been rude not to, right? For the occasion she wore an off-white Max Mara coat and dress, belted with a beige leather bow. Kate also wore her brown Aquatalia ankle boots which is one of my favourite looks for her as it is fun and young and fashionable and age-appropriate.
Some days you just have to be grateful for the wind. Kate started the day out, arriving to catch the train up to Cambridge from London, with full curl-action going on in her hair. The Cambridge wind whipped that out of her in a few minutes flat, meaning that for the first time this week I am not INFURIATED with her hair. Although I'll bet Kate was. All that wind blowing her new fringe around.
K-Middy and her husband took a tour of various charity-funded operations in Cambridge, including a shelter for homeless people, a retirement home, and something to do with kiddies. Obviously :)
Unfortunately we didn't get to see the Max Mara dress underneath the coat at any stage of the tour. Not even indoors, which was a bit strange. But I did think that that little hint of print at the hem of her coat was adorable and really rather pretty.
Just one misstep then in the whole look. Unfortunately the leather bow-belt was worn upside down. This is how it should be worn. A very tiny minor detail that just shows you that Kate is not completely obsessed with how she looks. Just like us she makes the odd faux pas or two along the way!
