StyleGuideCT Wears SA Designers
I thought I would show you some of the local designers that I wore to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa 2012. Now I have a bit of a uniform for fashion weeks. Most fashion editors do when you have a shed load of things to attend and don't want to make you life really difficult or be anyone's centre of attention. Not being someone who particularly likes my photo taken — except when to support a designer — I like to keep things simple. So I mostly wear black. Keeping the base neutral. And then I am always on the look out for cool and interesting neck pieces to make things exciting.
This year I wore two pieces from Pichulik. The first is the bold yellow one that I first saw at Merchants on Long in Cape Town and landed up buying at Purr at Lifestyles on Kloof (with my friend Alexis Chaffe from Expresso). The second — this one here in the photo with Simon Deiner — I bought off 36Boutiques.com. So not only did I support a local designer, but also two local fashion businesses. Yay!
And then I also wore this necklace from Oh Dear Megan, also off 36Boutiques, which I adore. I pretty much always wear a ring from the same designer, so you can tell that I like her work a lot! Colin O Mara Davis is my charming front row companion here.
And then finally I wore my Thula Sindi spiky studded headband. Which makes me look like I am wearing a punk rock crown. Perfect. And this is Felicity, from Parkhurst store EGALITY, keeping me company. Now you go on and support local too please. It's so easy to do.
